Hummus, Heels & Highrises
You are here to support an author, to contribute towards Purva's work-in-progress, (working title) called Hummus, Heels & Highrises. Thank You!
I landed in Dubai in November 2012.
I was told it was the land of brunches. Soon enough, I learned that it was true. Drunches tried to take over but meekly gave the podium back to the brunches. The city's PR agencies also realized the wordplay had failed. As an author, I learned that my biggest competitors were not titles published by fellow authors (there were/are only a handful) but the brunches in town. A brunch with unlimited drinks would win over a book reading with a solo complementary coffee any day. I’d not survive, I was told.
Yet, here I am. Four books old and counting. What did I do that was different? I adapted and gift-wrapped the books. I found my space.
I narrate this tale as I work on a new manuscript (working title) called Hummus, Heels & Highrises. For years, I’ve been wary (and even shy) of giving away too much on what’s brewing in my head, but for this title, set in #Dubai, I have decided to go all out. If there’s one thing that living in Dubai has taught me, it is to put yourself out there and chase what you seek. And the second thing it taught me is to believe in one word — collaborate.
Yes, as I record my journey of penning this book, I want you to join hands; I want you to be the source of my inspiration. Want to read excerpts? Want to share what’s cooking in your party circle? Want to support an author? Connect with me, and we’ll make this happen. Write the chapters with me.
So, while brunches are competing with Padel, Sip & Paint is having the last laugh (for now), and Ladies Nights is unwilling to concede defeat. I also know that I, as an author, am not going anywhere.

P.S. Artificial Intelligence took three seconds to create the visual, (you see above) for the text you just read. I am not threatened; I am just in awe.
